T2 Terrain Compensation Technology
Tilt Compensation for EZ-Guide Plus with EZ-Steer from Ag Leader and Trimble
Now included with all new EZ-Steer systems!
Also available as an upgrade for current EZ-Steer owners without T2.
The new T2 Terrain Compensation Technology option for EZ-Steer
assisted steering system improves accuracy when driving across
rough ground and sloping terrain, perfect for reducing overlaps
and skips and increasing productivity on any farm with undulating
terrain. It's ideal for boosting GPS assisted steering accuracy
on rolling land, ditches, waterways and terraces. The bottom
line for you is savings in input costs, time and energy. T2
is included with new EZ-Steer systems, and also available as
a hardware
and firmware upgrade for owners of EZ-Steer models without T2.
Key Features and Benefits
The T2 Terrain Compensation Technology combined with 3.0 EZ-Guide Plus firmware
provides several major benefits:
- Improves accuracy on slopes, hills and when driving over terraces, ditches,
and waterways
- Improves overall performance when driving on flat ground with rough terrain
- Reduces steering wheel movement by 50-70% for a smoother ride
The EZ-Steer system with T2 is tested and approved for many
vehicles for speeds up to 12 mph, so you can use it in
all your applications from planting to harvest. Enhancements
to enable use on higher speed vehicles are in progress. Current
recommended vehicles include:
- 2WD/MFWD tractors
- 4WD Articulated tractors
- Combine harvesters and swathers
- Tracked tractors
About Terrain Compensation Technology
 |
Terrain compensation technology calculates the
difference between the GPS antenna’s location and
the desired “working position” of the vehicle’s center
point on the ground – no matter what angle the
vehicle may be tilting. |
The EZ-Steer T2 Difference
| So how is T2 different from other terrain compensation technology?
Some GPS guidance or steering products only have one accelerometer for roll correction.
As a result, they can only adjust for slowly-changing slopes and not rolling hills
or rough ground. Others may have only a gyroscope, which also limits their ability
to compensate for rough ground and slope changes.
In contrast, T2 technology uses two accelerometers
and two gyroscopes, updating at 10 times a
second, to compensate for roll, pitch and yaw on both
fast and slow changes in slope.
The controller can be mounted in several specific orientations within the vehicle
cab for maximum flexibility and accuracy.
Another difference is the price. For only $6,560 from Martens Farms, you can
purchase a complete GPS guidance and assisted steering system with tilt compensation.
This includes the EZ-Guide Plus lightbar guidance , EZ-Steer with T2 Terrain Compensation
option, Remote Keypad with audio alarm, and Steering Column Bracket mount. |
